For example, Grant B. Smith is President of the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association and the past chair of the American Bar Association’s Commercial Transportation Litigation Committee. R. Clay Porter is past President of the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association, and Scott W. McMickle is past President of the Loss Prevention Conference - Southern Motor Carriers.

Members of the firm are frequent speakers at seminars and meetings for The Defense Research Institute, The Georgia Defense Lawyers Association, the American Trucking Associations, the Georgia Motor Trucking Association, the National Conference of Freight Counsel, the National Truck and Heavy Equipment Claims Conference, the Association for Transportation Law, Logistics and Policy, and many others.

The firm has authored a standard industry treatise entitled Motor Carrier Liability that addresses recurring problems in the trucking industry.
