Harold “Hal” Whiteman, has specialized in the defense of workers compensation claims for over 25 years. Having been a claims adjuster for a major carrier prior to attending law school, he has a unique perspective on the daily challenges facing claims handlers. Mr. Whiteman has successfully represented employers, insurers, and self-insurers in the defense of claims at workers compensation hearings throughout the State. He is often retained to bring difficult claims to conclusion by aggressively reducing exposure for future benefits. He has been retained by employers in disputes over coverage and premium issues. When settlement is the appropriate solution to a claim, Mr. Whiteman carefully evaluates claims and represents employers and insurers at both private and Board sponsored mediations. He has been a frequent speaker on workers compensation law at State Bar seminars including the annual Georgia Workers Compensation Law Institute.
