Dennis,
Corry, Porter & Smith,
L.L.P. was formed by Robert
E. Corry Jr. and R. Clay
Porter in 1985 for the
express purpose of defending
motor carriers and truck
insurers. Prior to that
time, Mr. Corry practiced
with Douglas Dennis, who
began his legal career
in 1938 after graduating
from Emory University School
of Law. Mr. Corry joined
Mr. Dennis in 1964 and
the two regularly represented
motor carriers and their
insurers until Mr. Dennis’ retirement
in 1983. Mr. Porter joined
them in the practice of
law in 1979 upon his graduation
from Emory University School
of Law.
After
graduating from the University
of Georgia, Grant B. Smith
joined the firm in 1987 and
became partner in 1994. Scott
W. McMickle attended law school
at the University of Florida,
joined the firm in 1995, and
became partner in 1999. After practicing
for several years at an insurance
defense firm, Raymond J. Kurey
joined DCPS in 1995 and became
partner in 1999. John D. Dixon
graduated from Stetson University
College of Law in 1996, immediately
joined DCPS, and became partner
in January of 2002. Stephanie
Collings Patel was a Law Clerk
in the Superior Court of DeKalb
County for nearly three years
before joining the firm in
1999. Ms. Patel became partner
in January of 2003. Kevin Branch practiced law in Charlotte, North Carolina for several years before moving to Atlanta and joining the firm in 2001. Mr. Branch became a partner in 2006.

"Doc" Dennis
|

Douglas Dennis passed away at the age of 87
on August 23, 2000. Mr. Dennis
graduated from Emory University
School of Law in 1938 and
practiced law until the age
of 70. Mr. Dennis was with
the firms Hewlett & Dennis
and Nall, Miller, Cadenhead
& Dennis prior to forming
a defense litigation practice
with Mr. Corry. |
